It’s the time of year we all look forward to.. sand, sun & fun fun fun!
….But what do you do if you wax?
Do you shave in between?
Wax more often?
Or keep the faith in your current schedule?
Surprisingly all of those questions can be correct!
As always we do not advocate shaving if you are going to exclusively wax. But for the sake of Bikini Season you can clean up the bikini line area with your razor if it’s an emergency.
We do not want you to stop your progress of lessening hair growth, and causing ingrowns, so make sure to clean up with your razor on the bikini line and onto the inner thigh areas ONLY.
Follow your same aftercare routine at home with your Bump eRaiser products.
If you are 100% against taking that razor to your skin (don’t worry, we are too), you can absolutely wax more often during the summer. We recommend coming in 3 weeks instead of 4 or just opting for a Bikini Line wax in between your monthly Brazilian Waxes! Your BARE Wax Esthetician will discuss the perfect schedule for this, as everyone’s hair growth can be a little different.
And last, but certainly not least you can just leave it! It's only hair at the end of the day, right?
For those who don’t mind a little hair in between, or those who do not have much of a Bikini Line (lucky you!), simply just leave it!
If there is no hair growth, there is no reason to worry. You can maintain your normal monthly waxing schedule.
And a little bit of hair is OKAY! At 4 weeks the amount of hair is minimal and finer in texture. This means it will be barely visible, and if you are keeping a faithful waxing schedule your next appointment is right around the corner to take care of that hair before you really even start to notice it!
Our BARE Wax Esthetician recommends keeping your current 4 week schedule above all else. We do not want to contribute to multiple growth cycles, or ingrown hairs.
Shaving can cause skin irritation, especially more so in the summer time months.
Increased waxing can contribute, and possibly stimulate other hair growth cycles (not common, but can happen).
As always we want the best for your skin, and over all waxing results! Keeping a regular schedule is always best.
And what if you don’t get Brazilian or Bikini Waxes?
No worries as this applies to ALL BODY WAXING!
Other popular areas we wax:
Underarms
Legs
Butt
Full Backs / Full Chest
Make sure to keep your skin care routine to a T, especially if you find yourself at the beach or pool. Chlorinated, and Salt Water is VERY DRYING to your skin. If you are not properly hydrating and protecting your skin (SPF) before and after you can be contributing to skin irritation (ingrown hairs, and break outs).
Make sure to apply your Bump eRasier Lotion 2x if not more a day, and as always WEAR YOUR SPF!
Pro Tip: When your skin is dry DO NOT reach for your exfoliate. Instead HYDRATE!
Always remember Dry Skin = Sensitized Skin
HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE.
We need to re-establish your acid mantle and rebalance your skins pH. By exfoliating you are going to irritate your skin further causing more post inflammatory inflammation. Lotion however will add moisturizer back to the skin allowing it to rebalance and repair.
Pro Tip: This goes for SUN BURNS too! HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE.
Once your skin has re-established it’s pH you can resume your exfoliation routine. If you are hydrating 2x a day your skin should be back to normal within a few days.
Pro Tip: Be mindful of your activities. Do not exfoliate the morning of hitting the beach or pool. Instead exfoliate 24-48 hours in advance to avoid creating skin irritation.
We are here for you and your skin!
Now go slip into that Bikini, because every-BODY is a summer BODY.
